Jeremiah 9:23-24 states, "Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understand and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD."
In Philippians 3:7-8 the Apostle Paul states, "But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ." In verse 10 he states, "That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made comformable unto His death."
I would not want to live this life without being a Christian.
Life is not worth living without the Lord.
Battles are not worth fighting without the Lord.
Burdens are not worth carrying without the Lord.
What I see in the Scriptures is God begging us to know Him. Psalm 73 shows those who have everything their heart could desire and yet when they come to the end, they have nothing to live for and less to die for.
When you have had your last pleasure, seen your last sight, met your last friend, had your last drink, spent your last night in sin…you will know what you traded for knowing God.
When the last Scripture has been fulfilled, and the last sin has been committed, and the last song has been sung, and the last searching of the Spirit, and the last soul has been saved, and the last saint has entered the portals of glory…all that really matters is, do you know the Lord? When every broken heart is healed and every severed friendship restored, the only thing that really matters is Do you know the Lord?
For the saint, When you've lived in His love, Shared in His grace, Walked in his Word, Stood in His power, and have been led by His Spirit, the only thing that really matters is that you know the Lord.
When you have spoken you last word, had your last victory, kissed your last loved one, breathed your last breath and lived your last day. THE ONLY THING THAT REALLY MATTERS IS, DO YOU KNOW THE LORD? TO KNOW CHRIST IS TO KNOW PEACE, VICTORY, AND FORGIVENESS, AND THAT HEAVEN IS YOUR HOME.
