Hearts God Has Touched

In 1 Sam. 10:26, "there went with him (King Saul) a band of men, whose hearts God had touched." Saul had been chosen to be the first king of Israel, and even though he is going to fail and lose the kingdom, God touched the hearts of a band of men that followed him. The word "touched" means "to lay the hand upon" and can have a good or bad connotation. Here it simply means divine influence. See 1 Ki.19:5,7 and Job 19:21 and Phil. 2:13. In 1 Sam. 10:26, it refers to motivation from God. I can say that I have experienced this personally in my ministry throughout these many years. It has been obvious to me that God has touched the hearts of people and inclined them to be a part of this Church and to be a blessing to me as well.

It is a great relief to know that God is not looking for success, He is looking for surrender. God is not looking for ability, He is looking for availability. God is not looking for wealth, He is looking for worship. God is not looking for results, He is looking for righteousness. God is not looking for beauty, He is looking for Belief.

What every Church needs is a band of men and women whose hearts God has touched...divinely influenced for good. Acts 17:28 states, "For in Him we live, and move, and have our being." From start to finish in life, the best life and the blessed life is that life that is sensitive to the touch of God. It begins with God touching our hearts for conversion. John 12:32 where we see that Christ in His death, "will draw all men unto me." Then we see that God touches the heart of saved to be consecrated. After we are saved, there is an immediate work of God in us to bring us to Spiritual maturity. 1 Cor. 3:1-2; 2 Pet. 3:18; and 1 Thess. 4:1-12. God touches the heart of the consecrated to be Spiritually conscious of the Spirit's work in us. 1 Th. 5:19; Eph. 4:30; Heb. 10:29. This leads to God touching our hearts to be serious about our life under His control. Titus. 2:1-10. Next, he touches us to bring us to a place of separation, with the boundaries of Biblical convictions. Tit. 2:12-14. After God has touched our lives in the other areas, there is soundness of character. All this results in God touching our lives with Soul-consciousness, Compassion for the lost. Jude 22
