I see thy tears

Some regrets that will die with us or go with us into eternity
Man does not naturally want to be in the minority. In Gen. 11:1-9 we see that the whole world was of one language and one speech. Then we see in v.4 they decided to build a city and a tower, “lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” They did not want to divide. They wanted to be in a majority. God’s response was to confound and scatter them upon the earth. People gravitate towards those of like life and like mind. In the context of Christianity, God wants us to be of one mind and one life built upon one faith. See Eph. 4:1-6 & John 17:18-22.
Living in the majority is not always the right and safe thing to do, and Christians should not be embarrassed to be in the minority.
- Judges chapters 6&7 show this truth. In chapter 6 God calls Gideon to smite the Midianites. Then in chapter 7:1-2, God tells Gideon that he has “too many” and in v.3 tells him to let those who are fearful and afraid depart. 22,000 departed and only 10,000 remained. Then God said, “yet too many.” Then God told him to take them to the water and “I will try them.” Gideon is left with a few, only 300 and by that minority, they had the victory and God got the glory. SERVING CHRISTIANS ARE LIVING IN THE MINORITY!
- In Matthew 7:21-23 we see that there are two words used in regard to those who will be saved and those lost. Notice “Few there be that find it” speaking of the way to heaven. The there are “Many there be which go in thereat.” I have had people justify their rejection of Christ by this statement: “All these other people in other religions cannot be wrong.” “How can so many people be wrong?” SAVED PEOPLE ARE TRULY IN THE MINORITY!
- In Revelation 3:1-6 we see “Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments.” SEPARATED CHRISTIANS ARE IN THE MINORITY! It has become very obvious that THE AVERAGE CHRISTIAN WANTS TO BE IN THE MAJORITY, JUST LIKE THE WORLD OF LOST PEOPLE. It takes a strongly dedicated Christian to make a conscious decision to “come out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord.”
I am not ashamed to live in the minority! I count it a privilege to live in the minority. I am not embarrassed to say “NO” to the things of this world that offend the Holiness of God. I would rather offend those of this world by refusing to “enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season” Heb. 11:25 rather than offend the One who loves me and saved me and forgave me through HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS.
If YOU ARE SAVED, ARE YOU WILLING TO LIVE IN THE MINORITY?
This is how we become salt and light to a dying and lost world of people. May God bless you Saved one as you pay the price to be identified as “ONE OF HIS.”
